Parker Pen 5th Technology
The American company Parker presented a relatively new writing unit technology with its Ingenuity collection, calling the new type of writing unit Parker Pen 5th Technology (5th writing unit). Let’s take a look at the official text of the presentation of the new writing unit:
“Parker’s innovative writing system is set to change the way we write. The innovation lies in the state-of-the-art refill system and engraved metal nib. Together, they bring the new Type 5 writing unit to life, ushering in a new generation of pens.”
Parker 5th technology received this name for a reason: It is truly the 5th, a unique mechanism that offers the writing comfort of a fountain pen while avoiding the disadvantages of the fountain pen system and simplifying and reliability of servicing ballpoint and rollerball pen models.
The company spent decades studying consumer needs to bring the simplicity of ballpoint and rollerball pens, the smooth writing feel of a fountain pen, and the stylish design into a new writing unit. All this raises the level of writing to new heights, promoting the development of beautiful handwriting and ensuring reliability and trouble-free operation on long business trips.

Final thoughts
The Ingenuity line includes two different collections – the Daring collection and the Classic collection, both of which come in Large or Slim models. The main difference between the Daring and Classic collections is that the Daring collection combines metallic and textured soft rubber coatings.
For this review, I will look at a pen from the Large Daring collection.
I fell in love with Parker pens when I was young. My first Parker pen originally belonged to my grandfather, and I used it whenever the opportunity presented itself. As I went on to have different models, I found that the more technologically advanced the pen I used, the less I wanted to use it, and so at some point, I just stopped keeping track of what type of pen I was using today.
When I first saw the Ingenuity nib, I thought, “Wow, this looks cool!” Indeed, the pen’s design with the new writing unit technology looked amazing, and I was strongly motivated to try it out. Of course, as soon as I got the opportunity, I didn’t hesitate to take the chance.
The first thing I noticed when I first picked up the pen was that it was quite short (an important detail; they sent me the “Large” modification) and that it was quite heavy. It’s not so heavy that you can say it’s not uncomfortable to use, just heavier than most of the cheap pens I’ve used for a while. As time passed, these sensations disappeared without a trace.
The pen is beautiful, and when you first remove the cap, you feel that it is a fountain pen, which, of course, it is not.
The “nib” tip is perhaps the most interesting part of the Ingenuity line of pens, as it looks like a fountain pen, split tines, etc., but it’s just a metal casing (called a Parker hood) that covers the cartridge that protrudes from the area grip The lower area of the “nib” is specially opened to expose the relief part of the cartridge, also stylized as a classic ink supply system in fountain pens.
One of the highlights of the Parker 5th pen is the easy refill process without the risk of getting dirty. It’s really easy – just unscrew the bottom of the handle, take out the empty cartridge, insert a new one and screw the bottom back on. Yes – it only takes a few seconds.
The biggest question you’ll probably ask is “How does she write?” I can answer with full responsibility—he writes easily and beautifully. It took some time to get used to writing to her, but once I got the habit, it felt like I had always used it.
It glides across the paper with almost no effort and really adapts to my writing style! The ink also dried very quickly on the page, and I didn’t have any issues with smudges, which was a big plus!
The Daring collection is slightly more expensive than the Classic collection. Parker 5th Ingenuity pen cartridges are also available in Fine or Medium sizes, black or blue. Obviously, it’s not the cheapest pen out there, but you’re paying for quality and a brand with a great reputation, and it’s definitely worth it.
Personally, I instantly became friends with the new product and now I recommend everyone to try the fifth Parker writing unit in action!
